Understanding Respite Care
Being a family caregiver is a demanding role, and burnout is a real risk. Respite Care is a short-term service designed to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers. It allows you to take a break—for a few hours, a day, or a weekend—with the peace of mind that comes from knowing your loved one is in the hands of a trained professional.

The Benefits for Family Caregivers
-
Prevent Burnout: Taking time for yourself is essential for your own physical and mental health.
-
Reduce Stress: Alleviates the constant pressure of being the sole provider of care.
-
Renewed Energy: A short break can help you return to your caregiving duties with renewed focus and patience.
-
Personal Freedom: Gives you the time to run errands, attend appointments, or simply relax.
We understand that every care situation is unique. That’s why we offer two levels of respite support:
-
Basic Respite:
This service is for individuals with non-skilled needs who require assistance with their activities of daily living (ADLs). It is intended to offer periods of caregiver relief and is a perfect choice when Personal Care and Homemaker services are not required on a permanent basis. It is not required for the primary caregiver to live in the same home as the participant.
-
Advanced Respite:
This service is designed for participants with special care needs that require a higher level of personal oversight and skill. Advanced Respite is provided in the individual’s home specifically for the relief of a caregiver who lives with the participant.
